Loudoun Celebrates Tuskagee Airman’s 95th Birthday
On Saturday, May 1st, Post 2001 participated in a spectacular display of patriotism, and Veteran comradery. There was a procession to celebrate Col. Carl C. Johnson’s 95th birthday. Carl is one of the last remaining of the Original Tuskagee Airmen, and he lives here, in Ashburn, VA.
The community, consisting of Veterans and Civilians, started the procession at 1300 hours, driving past Carl’s home, waving flags and honking horns. The procession included approximately 15 Jeeps, several cars and hot rods, with a total of 50 – 75 vehicles. Carl was looking sharp in his Red Tuskegee Blazer! His 30-50 neighbors were gathered across the street cheering the procession on.
From all of us here at Post 2001, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Carl!!!! For more information about the birthday procession please visit: Tuskegee Airman Colonel Carl C. Johnson honored on his 95th birthday in Ashburn (msn.com)
