First Honor Flight Off The Ground
This past Wednesday, 13 August, the first Honor Flight of the Fall Season arrived at Dulles Airport. 81 veterans from Honor Flight of the Ozarks arrived from Springfield, MO for their day of honor touring the memorials around D.C. While there were scattered showers around the area, they were spared getting wet until they left their buses to come back into the terminal for their departure. While they stayed dry inside, lightning delayed their flight departure for awhile. All in all, a good day for the veterans.
If you haven’t been over to our website recently, we’ve added two new flights to the schedule. That means that you have 28 more chances to greet our veterans this fall. The photo below illustrates the importance of being at the airport to make sure that we do our best to ensure that these veterans know that we understand their sacrifices and care that they have chosen to make an Honor Flight journey.
