Vietnam Veteran Pinning Ceremony and a Resource Fair for Vietnam Veterans

The Office of U.S. Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton will be hosting a . Though the fair is geared to assist all Vietnam Veterans, recent changes to federal law which allow “Blue Water Navy” Vietnam Veterans to file claims related to Agent Orange exposure will be a specific focus area for the fair.

The event will take place at the Purcellville Baptist Church, in Purcellville, VA on Friday, August 16th from 10am-2pm. The pinning ceremony will take place between 10am-10:30am with the resource fair to follow directly afterward.

The event will host Veteran Service Organizations from around the district, regional Community Veteran Engagement Boards, resources from the state level, and a team from the Veterans Benefits Administration to assist with filing claims.

Blue Water Navy Resource Fair

American Legion Post 2001, Ashburn, Virginia participates in Independence Day Parade

On Thursday, July 4, 2019, comrades from American Legion, Leonard W. Kidd Post 2001 from Ashburn, Virginia, celebrated Independence Day! And Leesburg, Virginia hosted their 10th annual Independence Day parade! The parade started at Ida Lee Park, traveled down King Street and concluded at Fairfax Street. This year’s parade also featured the 10th annual Patriot’s Cup Competition, sponsored by the Loudoun Now newspaper. This award went to the best parade entry; winners’ names will be engraved on the Patriot Cup, which will be on display at Town Hall for the remainder of the year.

Back this year is the American Originals Fife and Drum Corps, sponsored by Toth Financial. This traditional corps added patriotic sound to the parade and is a favorite among parade viewers. The group performed at the intersection of King and Market Street as a prelude to the parade.

And after the parade, Concert & Fireworks at Ida Lee Park.
