Poppy Distribution Memorial Day Weekend, 26 and 27 May

Legionnaires,

We are woefully short of volunteers to distribute poppies and collect donations to enable us to help veterans less fortunate than us.

There are over 80 of us on the roles of Post 2001. If you are physically able, live within 50 miles of Ashburn, and can spare even an hour on Friday and/or Saturday between the hours of 0930 and 1900, please let Larry Rosenburger know.

We’ll be distributing poppies to the population that frequents the Ashburn Village Giant Grocery Store, who’ve proven to be very generous in the past.
Help us help our fellow vets. I hope to see you there.

For God and Country,

Chuck

Post 2001 – Veterans Day Weekend Poppy Volunteers

Comrade Legionnaires of Post 2001,

The annual Memorial Day weekend Poppy Distribution is on Friday, May 26 & Saturday, May 27 at the Giant Food Store in Ashburn Village.

Please see the attached sign-up sheet for the 3 or 3 1/2 hour shifts available for you to pick from to volunteer on this 2-day event.

We really need at least two Legionnaires for each shift. Three Legionnaires is preferred and as always the more the merrier. If you have never participated in the poppy distribution event, give it a try, you may enjoy it. I think that those that participated in the past have enjoyed the event. I certainly do.

Please look over the sign-up sheet and if you would like to volunteer for any shift contact me. If you cannot work a full shift, no problem. Any amount of time that you can volunteer is helpful and appreciated.

See You At The Poppy Distribution
