Legionnaires – Volunteers Needed for Poppy Distribution on Veterans Day Weekend

Comrade Legionnaires.

The annual Veterans Day weekend Poppy Distribution is on Friday, 6th November & Saturday, 7th November at the Giant Food Store in Ashburn Village.

Please see the attached sign-up sheet for the 3 or 3 1/2 hour shifts involved for you to pick to volunteer on this 2-day event. We really need at least two Legionnaires for each shift. But three is better and as always the more the merrier. If you have never participated in the poppy distribution, give it a try, you may enjoy it. I think that those that participated in the past have enjoyed the event. I certainly do.

Please look over the sign-up sheet and if you would like to volunteer for any shift contact me. If you cannot work a full shift, no problem. Any amount of time that you can volunteer is helpful and appreciated.

[Preferred uniform is a sport coat and tie with Legion cap if you have one; alternate uniform is smart casual with Legion cap if you have one.]

Also, for you information I have attached the Story of the Poppy, Veterans Day and Memorial Day flyers.

See You At The Poppy Distribution

Renew for 2016 for American Legion Post 2001

Legionnaires,

We are now moving into the third month of the 2016 American Legion membership campaign.

If you have not yet renewed for 2016, please consider doing so in the next few days – our Post is just five members short of hitting the goal for the first week of September.

It is easy to renew online – just go to: http://www.legion.org/renew and select “renew now”.

You will need your membership number (on your American Legion card – if you can’t find it, send me an e-mail and I’ll get it to you), and you will need a credit card to pay for 2016 ($40 dues).

Thank you for your continued membership and support. Our Post is doing great things locally and your membership helps out. And as a member you help at the National level by giving our leadership the numbers to help influence Congress to act on veteran issues in support of all veterans.

If you have already renewed – thanks!

Still serving America,
