We will be partnering with VFW Post 1177 for their annual Flag Retirement Ceremony. This is a great event. I believe we filled 4 dumpsters with flags last year. Setting those flags on fire creates serious heat and is definitely worth seeing if you’ve never been to a Flag Retirement Ceremony.
We’d love to see you there.
Location: Loudoun County Fire & Training Center located at 16600 Courage Ct., in Leesburg VA
Date: October 17, 2026
Time: 0900-1200
If you have folded flags you would like to retire, we are meeting at VFW Post 1177, 401 Old Waterford Rd NW, Leesburg, VA 20176, at 0800. We will convoy to the Loudoun County Fire & Training Center.
We have several Flag Collection Boxes throughout Ashburn at the various HOA offices. You can drop off old flags at any of the collection boxes throughout the year. We collect the flags from the collection boxes every quarter and bring them to various flag retirement ceremonies throughout the year.
